Ashwagandha laddu | How to take ashwagandha churna | Ashwagandha benefits

Ashwagandha is an evergreen herb that grows in India, the Middle East, and parts of Africa. Ashwagandha is known as winter cherry or Indian ginseng. This is one of the most important herb in ayurvedic medicine system, which is used in India over 3000 years ago. Ashwagandha is used as a root and powder(churna) form. It has a vast of health benefits. Ashwagandha is used to treat Arthritis, Heart health, Alzheimers treatment, cancer and thyroid.
Ashwagandha sometimes difficult to consume in raw form. As it is very bitter in taste. So you can take ashwagandha churna in any of the forms, like with milk or make a snack using ashwagandha powder. Simply make sweet laddus using ahwagandha churna. Further ashwagandha sweet laddus are very easy to make and tasty too. You can store this in an air-tight container for 10 to 15 days.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup palm jaggery
  • 1/4 cup Organic ashwagandha powder(churna)
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp wheat flour

Instructions

Making of Ashwagandha Churna Balls/Sweet Laddus:

  • Heat a thick bottomed pan on low to medium flame and add palm jaggery and little water. 
  • Keep on stirring this until the jaggery completely melts and forms a string like consistency.
  • Now add ashwagandha churna/powder.
  • Give it a good mix so that it combines well with jaggery.
  • Similarly add ghee and again mix it well.
  • Also lower the flame and add cardamom powder and wheat flour.
  • Again mix it well and turnoff the heat.
  • Allow to cool this prepared mixture for 5 minutes.
  • When it is slightly warm, shape into balls. Make sure the balls not too small and not too big. Approximately one ounce each. 
  • Now the healthy ashwagandha churna laddus are ready to serve.
  • Store this in an air-tight container or glass jar. Eat one laddu daily before breakfast or at bed time with a cup of hot milk.
