Firstly, take a blender jar and add chana dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, grated coconut and red chili with little water
Blend this to a smooth paste and keep it aside
Meantime, heat a pan on moderate flame and add coconut oil
Once the oil is hot enough, add mustard seeds, cumin, turmeric powder, hing and curry leaves
Sauté for a min until mustard and cumin seeds splutters
Next add finely chopped onion and tomatoes, sauté well until tomatoes are mushy
Likewise add moringa leaves and again sauté it until the leaves wilted
Then add cooked moong dal and blended paste
Along with, add salt, jaggery and monkey jack powder
Mix everything well and bring to boil for 2 to 3 mins, turn off heat
Finally, nutritious side dish murugai keerai kootu is ready to serve!
Enjoy this as a curry or side dish with hot rice with a spoonful of ghee or with roti, chapati or pulka
