Ashwagandha  is one of the ancient medicinal herb that has been used for more than 2500 years. It is an adaptogenic herb. In India ashwagandha is known as the "strength of the stallion". Because it has traditionally been used to strengthen the immune system after illness. Ashwagandha milk or ashwagandha ksheera is a simple, healthy recipe made from ashwagandha powder and milk. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup boiled and cooled milk
  • 1/2 tsp ashwagandha powder
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder

Instructions

  • In a sauce pan add water.
  • Now add ashwagandha powder.
  • Mix well and bring to a boil for 5 mins until it reduces to half.
  • Turn off the heat and strain the mixture to a bowl.
  • Add boiled milk and let it cool for 2 to 3 mins.
  • Similarly add honey for natural sweetness.
  • Further add cardamom (elaichi) powder.
  • Finally give a good mix and pour this to a glass jar.
  • Now the super healthy healing ashwagandha ksheera is ready to serve and enjoy!
