Heat a pan and add oil.
Add chana dal and urad dal.
Saute well on a low medium flame for 5 mins until they are golden brown.
Now add the spices like cinnamon, cloves, star anise and poppy seeds.
Fry for 2 to 3 mins until you get a nice aroma of the spices
Similarly add coriander seeds.
Saute well for one minute.
Furthermore add dry chillies.
Fry again for 1 minute and turn off the heat.
Now cool down the mixture completely.
Transfer this mixture to a blender and make a fine powder.
Home made Vangibath powder is ready now. Store this in an air tight bottle or glass jar.
You can use this powder as a multipurpose masala powder for making palyas, bath and stir fry.
